IOSH [The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health] was founded in 1945. It is the major professional body representing individual safety and health practitioners in the UK. The fundamental purpose of the Institution is to promote the safety, health and well-being of people at work, and people affected by work activities.

IOSH Managing Safely

These courses are offered to you by Pro Business Training and Athena Safety Ltd and delivered in association with the Woodward Group, Carlisle. The Woodward Group has been delivering training for the past 18 years and has grown into one of the largest NEBOSH and IOSH centres in the UK. The training teams are all qualified to the highest professional standards, both in their technical knowledge and in their tutoring skills.

Who is the Course for:

The IOSH Managing Safely Course is a four day course designed for people in all types of organisations, who need a broad understanding of health and safety at work, particularly those in supervisory or management positions. The aim is to give these people the knowledge to help implement good practice for health and safety in the workplace.

Course Content:
The modules for the IOSH Managing Safely Course are:
Module 1 ~ Introducing managing safely
Module 2 ~ Assessing Risks
Module 3 ~ Controlling Risks
Module 4 ~ Understanding your responsibilities
Module 5 ~ Identifying hazards
Module 6 ~ Investigating accidents and incidents
Module 7 ~ Measuring performance
Module 8 ~ Protecting our environment

There are two parts to the assessment for this course. The first is a question paper which covers the whole range of the course subjects and the second is a written project. An IOSH Certificate will be awarded to candidates successfully completing the course and assessments.
